Central District ACE Award

Brenda Steve, Principal, Sartell High School

Nominated by Brandon Nordhues and Joanna Richards, Sartell High School

Presented & Written by: Mary Ebanks, Central District Chair

Congratulations to Brenda Steve, Sartell-St. Stephen High School Principal, as the Central District ACE Award recipient.

According to nominating teachers Brandon Nordhues and Joanna Richards, she has enthusiastically supported the choral program by attending every choir concert and facilitating as an usher. She genuinely shares her love and passion for music in the schools! Brenda has worked to increase the choral FTEs, tripled accompanist hours at the high school, supported co-teaching opportunities, and would reach out to students to get a pulse about enrollment in the choral program.

The entire music department was involved in all major meetings with architects, acousticians, technology specialists, and performing arts consultants when the new high school planning committee met to ensure their voices were heard, literally! This collaboration demonstrates Brenda’s trust in her staff to be the experts in their own field.

Brenda has announced her retirement, and will continue with various duties into October, 2020. She has provided outstanding support to the Sartell-St. Stephen High School choral program over the past 15 years, and her support of the choral arts in her school and community is greatly appreciated.
