2019 Northwest District ACE Award

Wayne Hoff, Bemidji

Presented on Thursday, August 8, Summer Dialogue Award and Recognition Banquet

Nominated and presented by Pat Mason, Bemidji

An accompanist is one of the most valuable assets of a choir. Wayne is an incredible accompanist. He anticipates my every move. He can sight read anything, and when “Let Go” can improvise and enhance any performance. His musical sensitivity is astounding.

Wayne is one of the most talented individuals musically I have ever met. I hired him as an accompanist for my public school choral program in 1988. When I became the Bemidji Chorale Conductor, I brought him with me.

Wayne has been a church organist. He has accompanied Cass Lake, Blackduck, Bemidji, Bagley, and Walker High School and Trek North music programs. He is actively sought to accompany solos/ ensembles. He maintains a thriving studio nurturing young pianists.

Duties with Bemidji State University have included Varsity Choir, student recitals, and Elderhostel Summer Choral Program

An active community member, Wayne has accompanied the Rotary Club in Bemidji, the Bemidji Community Theater, and the Paul Bunyan Theater.

Wayne’s contributions are endless and much appreciated.
