About Sandra Baker

Sandra Baker teaches General Music to grades 4, 5, and 6, is the Choral Director for the Jr. and Sr. High Choirs, and also teaches a 7th grade General Music class. Prior to teaching 4-12, Mrs. Baker taught K-3, in Sunburg (KMS). In 1987-1988 Mrs. Baker taught K-2 and 7-12 Choral Music in Brooten, MN. Mrs. Baker returned to KMS in 1988 (Murdock), where she taught K-4, until 2008, when she moved to her present position. Sandra holds a degree in Vocal Music, K-12 from Bemidji State University, and a Master’s Degree in Leadership in Education from Southwest Minnesota State University. Mrs. Baker has directed church choirs, children’s choirs, accompanied church choirs, and been musical director for several KMS Community Musicals. She has also given private voice, piano and organ lessons to many young people and adults in the KMS area. Mrs. Baker’s goal, for her choirs, is that the music created in her room will develop a spirit of cooperation and sensitivity, which will help those performing, along with their family, friends, and community, see the beauty around them, and have a true appreciation for the arts. Mrs. Baker has a reputation of receiving superior ratings, developing young voices, and involving students in choral music activities.
