Marie Scholtz

About Marie Scholtz

Marie currently teaches 2nd-6th grade vocal music in the Hopkins school district and directs children's choirs at Plymouth Congregational Church. She is pursuing her master's degree from the University of St. Thomas, with an emphasis in choral conducting (and is almost done!). Marie has enjoyed the challenges of building choral programs and teaching early singing skills to students in small Minnesota towns as well as independent schools in New York City. She has sung recently with Magnum Chorum, Manhattan Chorale, The Oregon Bach Festival, and is a current member of Mila, the 12-voice Minneapolis-based Balkan women's ensemble. She also frequently performs Peter, Paul, and Mary covers with her husband Paul and brother-in-law Peter.
